A Lens into RabbitX: Infrastructure, Diagnosing an Issue, and Shipping a Fix We recently had a large trader complain of latency issues. Some market orders were executing with several-second delays. We opened an internal review. Here's what we found, and how we fixed it: THE PROBLEM While overall volume has remained steady, we've seen occasional large bursts of orders being submitted in close succession. This sometimes exceeds over 6,000 requests/sec (we have some market makers and HFT funds who use rapid-fire algo trading, we're built for both retail and institutions). We've seen volume spikes as high as 15k request/sec over the last month. These surges were creating sporadic bottlenecks, resulting in small delays. THE DIAGNOSES Our real-time risk engine checks account margin, open positions, and equity at the account and exchange lever after each order and withdrawal placed on RabbitX. We call this Real-Time Proof of Solvency (RTPOS). Every order must be margin compliant at the account level, and RabbitX must be solvency compliant on the exchange level, or the order won't execute. RabbitX grew substantially in unique trading addresses from the @BlastFutures expansion (March 2024). RTPOS means we simulate margin and solvency for every single trade, open order, and all open positions for both BFX and RBX now. More traders, no matter how big or small, means more discrete checks happening. Which means more stress on our infrastructure. With all of these increases, we only heard complaints from one user that some of his market orders were a little slow. Pretty good. But not good enough. THE FIX Our RTPOS adheres to the ACID framework (atomicity, consistency, isolation, durability). This way, every transaction can be checked hypothetically and rejected in a single atomic operation if it violates account margin OR exchange solvency. This is the security and protection you get on RabbitX. Milady. As the number of traders and orders grew, this check started to create latency issues. Security and risk are paramount to everything built on RabbitX. But our traders also demand nothing short of lightspeed execution. Our high-performance matching engine is built using Tarantool, an in-memory database with an expressive programming language called Lua. To address this latency issue when trading volume spikes, we brought on more computing resources and optimized how these checks are sequenced and performed to make sure we never fall below both our performance standards AND our risk standards. We tested it, and released it. So far, so good. But if the issue pops up again, we'll be back in the lab to fix it. Trade. Earn. Win. RabbitX. Back the Bunny 🐇

Blockchains Are Digital Truth What’s the difference between a blockchain and a database? Why are we so adamant that our transaction information be stored on a decentralized ledger instead of a centralized one? How the data is stored is not the key unlock for what make blockchains a revolutionary concept. People who deride blockchains as inefficient databases are wrong and don't understand their true value add. We'll circle back on this at the end. The Centralized Database vs the Decentralized One: Centralized Databases: In centralized databases (CDs), data is accessed via request that must be approved by a governing server. This client-server relationship is the backbone of how data is stored and retrieved. While this makes the CD easily censorable, it also makes it much faster and cheaper. A well-known engineering tradeoff in DeFi (and in life for that matter) is the more decentralized you are, the more secure and robust you become, but that comes at a cost of being slower and more inefficient. Security via decentralization exists on a spectrum. The more centralized the more fragile and censorable, but you increase throughput and speed by having less participants needed to propagate and maintain information. All of life is a tradeoff. In addition to censorship, centralization opens up vectors of attack for the CD, like social engineering, phishing, etc.. As constant news of data leaks demonstrates, these are difficult to defend against and show how fragile CDs are. The centralization makes the CD more vulnerable both from the outside and from within. A single corrupt employee could compromise the entire database. Vitalik could not do this to Ethereum. To shut down the CD, you don’t even need to hack it; you just need to disallow it from responding to legitimate requests. CDs are susceptible to distributed-denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks that paralyze the entire system. You could DDoS Ethereum, but it would get really expensive, fast. Decentralized Databases: The blockchain is built for robustness to attack and censorship. Blockchains, AKA decentralized databases (DDs), are much more censorship resistant, transparent, and permissionless. Every weakness for the CD is a substantial comparative advantage for the DD. Blockchains remove the central access point, putting an end to gatekeeping people's financial existence. Anyone can become a validator and assist with the maintenance of the chain. With no single point of failure, blockchains are the most robust solution mankind has come up with to universal access to information. Blockchains are the compute and data clouds of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. We are separating money from state, and also in many ways data from state. This isn’t to say DDs are without attack vectors. If enough miners collude, they can corrupt the network (Nakamoto Coefficient) and blocks can be compromised and activity reversed. However we’re not comparing blockchains to a perfect ideal; we’re comparing them to what we currently have. It’s much harder for many to collude and impair the DD than it is for just one to do so for the CD. Attacking a blockchain is difficult and can be very expensive. In a PoS network, a miscreant validator would get their ETH slashed. A price-insensitive actor could put up enough validators to undermine a chain or flood it with spam, but this would be extremely expensive. And comparatively, it's vastly preferrable to the degree of difficulty for compromising a CD. Public blockchains aren’t a panacea, but they’re a huge improvement on our other options. However, to focus purely on data storage misses the true societal value add of blockchains: it’s the consensus. The power of having millions -- and eventually billions -- of people agree on what’s true, who owns what, in what amount, and the history of how it got there is an incredibly powerful development for humanity. This degree of coordination and agreement has never been accomplished without violence or the state (but I repeat myself). Blockchains are digital truth 🐇

CRYPTO, SOFT CURRENCIES, AND LAYER 4 MONEY Money seems like a straightforward thing. However DeFi has shown us it can be a deeply philosophical question: what is money? A unit of account. A medium of exchange. We know the definitions. However the proliferation of things like algo stablecoins and wrapped tokens have forced us to hone down on where the value of the asset actually lies. Can you collateralize digital bits with more bits? Or must your bits be collateralized with atoms that exist in the physical world? What makes certain atoms/bits money and others not money? Just like there are layer 1 and layer 2 blockchains, there are layers of money that act as substrates for more money. -- LAYER 1 MONEY -- Historically, the base layer for money is often a commodity. Up until 1971 it was gold for the US dollar. In crypto, Bitcoin is our digital gold. What’s it do? Stop asking questions and hold it, that’s what it does (we love the corn fwiw). The base-layer asset used to be something tactile that you could drop on your foot, however it’s difficult to transact with it for this reason. Purchasing something in gold is highly impractical. So, we must abstract another layer onto things for usability. -- LAYER 2 MONEY -- US dollars were once an IOU that could be redeemed for gold; this made the USD a L2 money built atop gold’s L1. However the US government opted to remove the gold base layer in the infamous year of 1971, and now we have L2 money masquerading as L1, also known as soft currencies. You could think of the US military as the new base layer for the USD. The US military isn’t a Proof of Work protocol, it’s Proof of Violence. The world’s largest violence network, which ironically uses more oil than any other institution on the planet. And they say Bitcoin is bad for the environment. You could also view coercive taxation as the USD baselayer; you have to tithe in it, so you must work and earn it. Taxation is a necessary condition for a soft currency to have value. Layer 2 crypto money comes in several forms. BTC deposits held on centralized exchanges (offchain) are effectively an IOU for onchain Bitcoin. This also includes lending platform deposits (eg. BlockFi). There are different risk considerations behind the scenes for L2 crypto money, typically represented by the yield you’re provided for holding it on the platform (the higher the yield, the greater the risk). Tokens like WBTC (wrapped Bitcoin) are another version of crypto layer 2 money. Bridging your Bitcoin to Ethereum creates an asset whose sole value is that it represents a demand deposit on the bridge that’s holding the actual BTC. -- LAYER 3 MONEY -- Prior to 1971, USD was an IOU for gold. When you deposited your USD into a bank, that deposit became an IOU for dollars; the bank deposit is the L3 money (2 different IOUs to get to the baselayer). If you understand the US military as the USD’s baselayer, the dollar’s L3 is still represented by deposits at banks. Bitcoin’s L3 is found via DeFi applications like Yearn and Aave. With your WBTC (L2 money) you can then deposit into a yield-farming vault. This gives you tokens like yvWBTC, representing yet another demand deposit, which is the L3 money (2 different IOUs to get to the BTC). Layers on layers. -- LAYER 4 MONEY? Sort of. -- A possible Layer 4 for dollars is an esoteric and underappreciated one. The eurodollar market is a ledger-money system that represents USD held by banks outside of the US, meaning beyond the purview of US regulators and the Fed. These deposits are then lent out, repeatedly, creating many, many more dollars. How many times is the same dollar rehypothecated? It’s estimated up to 20-30x, but with the opacity of the eurodollar, we can’t know for sure. It’s a true wild west of dollars. No one wants actual dollars in this market (meaning physical currency) they just want keystrokes in their account that give numbers that represent dollars. And that's good, because there’s nowhere close to 1:1 USD backing those eurodollars. We have no idea how large the eurodollar market is because it’s unregulated with no formal reporting. It’s estimated to be at least as large as the domestic US dollar market. Stablecoins have interesting parallels to eurodollars. @BackTheBunny has analogized them in previous writings as sovereign money market funds. Another way to interpret them may be as cryptodollars. Like an onchain eurodollar. Take Tether’s USDT. USDT’s reserves are held outside of the US banking system, and USDT represents a demand deposit on these offshore US dollars. Tether says they’re 1:1 backed, however there's well-known uncertainty to just how backed all that USDT is. The framework to eurodollars is similar. The US Dollar: A Proof of Violence Network The US dollar is a network. Similar to how DeFi layer 1s need to show “proof” of something to have the chain work, so does the USD. It’s a Proof of Violence (PoV) network. However, the USD isn't based on just violence, value is provided in PoV too. DeFi detracts from it. PoV doesn’t need to show proof often, just once in resounding fashion c*****st quite a while. PoV allowed the US to set up the entire financial system as the rails for its hegemony. However violence alone isn’t enough to sustain this network, there’s value there too. I view USD PoV hegemony as a 2-part process: violence to establish it, then value to maintain it. Winning WW2 -- the most important war of modern times -- allowed the US to assert geopolitical and financial control: establishing what's known as "soft power". Things like dollar diplomacy, the petrodollar, and sanctions, as well as “international” institutions like the World Bank and IMF (Bretton Woods institutions). Plus things like SWIFT and banking-rails control. These let the US exert influence without drawing blood. But just because the USD started as a PoV (violence) network, doesn’t mean that’s what’s sustained it. The US-led financial system does provide real value to the world. Coercion does not work for a long time, and it’s inferior to aligned incentives and positive reinforcement. Carrots are what build the best human coordination, not sticks. The US established dollar hegemony with violence, and has maintained it with powerful economic network effects and property right laws. Give credit where it's due. However the violence was integral to USD ascension. It can’t be overstated how much the US's WW2 victory allowed it to basically remake the global order in a way that aligned with its economic interests and preferences. Through PoV, the US created a system built to advance its interests. And then allowed it to thrive by having a legitimately fantastic economy, the best rule of law, and best network effects the world had to offer. Use of USD as a ‘reserve currency’ (which isn’t an official designation, it just means people want to save in/hold your currency because it’s a Schelling Point for commerce) reflects this stability and affirms the global community mostly agrees with this. So PoV (violence) is what established US financial dominance, and then another PoV, Proof of Value, is what maintained it. Violently won at first, then sustained and developed through a comparatively superior system. Two very different kinds of PoVs, both equally important. Claims of the USD’s demise have been ongoing for decades. I’m not trying to make a call that now it’s finally happening, but I am going to suggest that the US PoV (value) network is going to be incrementally disrupted by the global, permissionless offerings of P2P financial networks that is DeFi. DeFi value will decrement USD value. US soft power is going to be increasingly undermined by crypto networks. Which is part of why America hates crypto, and it will always hate it so long as it’s king of the hill. Why wouldn’t it? It’s totally rational. Nothing about what DeFi is doing is accretive to the state from either an economic or power lens: it detracts from both of them. DeFi subverts US financial control both domestically and abroad by design. If you were the US, you’d hate it too (I’m not, so I love it). This loss of soft power will eventually bring about the need to refresh the initial PoV (violence). If you’re not providing enough value to keep people using your greatest export (USD), then you’re going to have to violently impose it on them like you did after WW2. -- Can The US Sustain its PoV Network? -- I’m not particularly bullish on the US military’s abilities to do this, simply because the motivation for war and the paradigm for it have changed, and the US has shown to be rather inept about it. Because the US is so overwhelming in traditional warfare, modern conflicts have evolved. They're now almost exclusively proxy wars (what the CIA does, Ukraine, Syria, etc.) or guerilla wars (Vietnam, Afghanistan, etc). This is known as 4th-gen warfare. However, modern US war accomplishes little, wasting trillions and US lives in the process. Iraq, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Syria.... what objectives have been won here? How much did this futility cost? These are not exceptions, ineptitude is a verifiable trend now for the US. Combat is now a hybrid of 4th and 5th-gen warfare: which is to say guerilla war and non-kinetic, manipulative psychological games. The US/NATO does not have a global monopoly on this kind of warfare, in fact they’ve shown to be increasingly maladroit about it. I’m not predicting the demise of the US or the dollar. What I’m predicting is that when it eventually loses economic superiority from USD network effects and value proposition to DeFi, it’ll become the UK with a 2nd amendment. Still wealthy and a nice place to live. It just doesn’t get to abuse people anymore and get away with it. You have to play fair! The PoV (value) that needs to be continually provided will be decremented as DeFi chips away at it. And the PoV (violence) that needs Fourth Turning-style refreshing to reestablish itself does not look like a force the US will be able to pull off when the time comes. Crypto Market Wizards is RabbitX’s series of interviews with sophisticated DeFi traders and investors. We discuss their background, strategies, psychology, risk management, and other interesting topics that helped cultivate their process and success. We do this because it’s interesting, and we want to help everyone learn to be better traders. Part of what makes DeFi great is we’re all learning in public together, every day. This is our way of contributing to the community. This interview is with @sistineresearch, a prominent DeFi trader and streamer, with a huge following on Youtube and well-known on Twitter for his unique and sophisticated trading breakdowns (you should go follow him immediately). He’s a RabbitX trader too! Which we’re particularly honored by, as it’s exactly these kind of thoughtful, professional traders we hope to attract. Enjoy!RabbitX: Tell us how you first got interested in trading?Sistine: I started trading in 2016 and 2017 when altcoins started taking off and it became clear there was a lot of opportunity in this space. I’ve been deep in crypto ever since.RabbitX: How’d you get into crypto?Sistine: My brother told me about Bitcoin in 2012-13. We were just high schoolers at the time and didn’t buy any unfortunately. Ended up buying small amounts of BTC and ETH on sketchy exchanges in 2015-16 (Cryptsy and BTC-e ring any bells?). Unfortunately, a lot of this crypto was lost when they went under. Oh, and I started mining ETH out of my apartment bedroom in 2016 with about ~24 GPUs.RabbitX: This is first-rate lore.---RabbitX: If you had to pitch your edge or unique capabilities, how would you describe it? Don’t be humble.Sistine: I’m fairly good at identifying the inputs and incentives that drive markets rather than depending strictly on price action or fundamentals. I only trade using indicators I designed myself which are centered around identifying price levels where incentives shift in the market with regards to risk/reward and leverage trading. When it comes to investing I’m not afraid to take large positions in projects that I have conviction in.RabbitX: You only use your own indicators? Can you elaborate, any examples you can share?Sistine: So basically I isolate for leveraged trading incentives in the market. Margin pressure levels are what I mainly trade based off of.For example on DOGE here. If we assume leveraged longs want to keep their liquidation points below that wick low (local low)...Then as soon as price goes above the 2x long level (0.106), all the longs that want to maintain a position below the local low can no longer do so on 2x leverage. So there is a big drop in demand around that level, because it becomes riskier to use > 2x leverage. Same logic but in reverse for shorts.RabbitX: Really interesting stuff. Love the novel thinking! Tell us about your first big win. Did it make you ‘post economic’? Life changing or just a huge gain?Sistine: First big win was buying ETH at $12. Made me about $50k when I was still in college, so at the time it was a huge win relative to my near-zero net worth. As mentioned, I lost a lot of that when BTC-e and Cryptsy went under, but it definitely hooked me.RabbitX: If you weren’t doing this what else would you be doing?Sistine: Probably running some sort of eCommerce or online advertising business. Some type of entrepreneurship where the overhead is low and upside is relatively uncapped.---RabbitX: Do you have any hobbies or interests besides trading/investing? Anything risk-seeking?Sistine: No, I’m pretty risk averse outside of investing/trading. I like to golf, wrestling (wrestled through college), family, dogs. You know, the wholesome stuff.RabbitX: Do you love what you do, or are you just good at it?Sistine: A mix of both. It’s quite rewarding to have big wins, especially when you have to sit through grueling and psychologically painful losses at times.RabbitX: How would you describe your trading strategy?Sistine: I look for asymmetric risk/reward opportunities in the market. Things where the upside is significantly higher than the downside. Things the market is unaware of yet or is just over-looking.RabbitX: Would you call yourself an investor (someone who expects intrinsic value/use of an asset to go up) a trader/speculator (someone who tries to predict price movements over short time frames) or a farmer (airdrops, yield farming, etc).Sistine: All of the above. I actively do all three. I believe that engaging in all of these helps diversify some risk, but ultimately I only do any of them if I think the risk/reward is asymmetric to the upside.---RabbitX: Do you have preferences for crypto you trade? Eg low liquidity, certain alts, majors, etc. If alts, why not just trade majors on leverage?Sistine: For trading, I like majors on leverage. For investing, low caps (now that we are in a bullish market).RabbitX: My man.RabbitX: Do you stick to what you know, or do you find yourself changing what you trade and how you trade it?Sistine: Both. The crypto market changes rapidly. You have to stay on top of new developments or you’ll be stuck bag-holding dead projects, hoping for a bailout.RabbitX: Facts. Can you elaborate on your research process for identifying new opportunities.Sistine: I use Twitter to gauge general trends and sentiment. From there, use critical thinking to predict where attention, and subsequently capital may flow as a result. For example, I was very bullish on Solana from <$20 for a few reasons, one of which was the amount of mind-share and attention it still got on Twitter at the depths of the bear market. It was one of the only chains that was regularly talked about.Once it pumped to $50 - $60, it became a reasonable bet that money and attention would start flowing to the application layer, so I began researching projects on Solana that overlapped with current narratives (mainly AI). This led me to get into Nosana and Synesis. One at really low valuations.RabbitX: Logical and clever. How do you determine your entry and exit points?Sistine: For investments, I almost always try to take my initial investment out after a 2x, unless I am just extremely bullish. For exits I just use market comps. For example, entered Nosana at a $30M FDV. Now it’s trading at almost $400M.My initial investment has been taken out, but Render Network and Akash Network, two similar use cases, are trading at FDV > $1B, leading me to believe there is additional upside.---RabbitX: How do you decide when to adjust or exit a position that deviates from your original plans?Sistine: If something has changed about the thesis making it a less attractive investment, then I’ll just cut it and move on. Never marry your bags.RabbitX: Smart man. When do you double down on a losing trade?Sistine: Rarely ever.RabbitX: When do you add to winners vs taking profits?Sistine: When something changes to make it even more bullish. For example, when funds and whales started entering TRUMP, I added more because it was a bullish confirmation.RabbitX: Do you approach taking profits losses with a thesis that’s confirmed/denied, or simply a price point?Sistine: Both.---RabbitX: Does macro play a role in your process?Sistine: Yes, it helps identify the trajectory of the market (bull market vs bear market)RabbitX: Do you have a different approach to trading and investing in bull markets vs bear markets?Sistine: Yes. in a bull market I exclusively long. I never short in a bull market unless I am farming funding rate. Also, I invest in low caps in a bull market. Both of these things are suicidal in a strong bear market.RabbitX: What trade or event taught you the most?Sistine: I bought DeGods and DUST in the wake of the FTX collapse. They were the most active NFT community at the time on Solana. I doubled down when they announced their move to Ethereum, because despite Solana doing well now, it was a very bullish move at the time. Then I sold all of it before the price crashed when they flopped on Season 3 months down the road. Perfect example of never marrying your bags. You have to be willing to dump it all and walk away if it turns from a bullish investment to a bearish one.RabbitX: Thanks so much for your time and for talking with The Bunny. Your trading streams and analysis are excellent and we very much look forward to seeing your star rise!Sistine: Thanks, I love the RabbitX platform and use it for a lot of my perps trading. Looking forward to seeing you guys keep winning.

Crypto is under attack. It's going to get worse. DeFi fundamentally removes state control of financial infrastructure. But just as the US loses to guerillas in war, it will also lose to DeFi.Read The Vietnam Thesis

Market Making On the RabbitX Orderbook: Introducing The Fusion Automated Market MakerRabbitX uses orderbook liquidity. Centuries of TradFi experimenting and lessons have converged on the orderbook (OB) as the optimum way to provide the most sophisticated pricing, least slippage, and best execution. However, in DeFi, there has been a small catch: retail users can’t liquidity provide (LP) on an OB.🐇 The Problem 🐇OB’s use professional market makers (MMs) who run their book as a business, and are financially incentivized to provide the best liquidity possible. This market making incorporates pricing information by MMs who constantly update and manage their books. OB market making requires active liquidity management to maintain. Whereas AMM LP’ing is passive.Providing liquidity is hard if you’re not a professional market maker. You need trading and technical expertise, hundreds of thousands dollars worth of infrastructure, and a team of traders monitoring 24/7.Whereas Automated Market Maker (AMM) based perpetual DEXs often have limited markets available for trading. This constrains your execution quality and ability to trade new markets with speed and size.🐇 Introducing the RabbitX Fusion AMM, your ticket to LP’ing on the RabbitX orderbook. 🐇In partnership with @ElixirProtocol, RabbitX is excited to introduce the Fusion AMM (FAMM). With FAMM, you deposit your USDT collateral and Elixir’s sophisticated, automated strategies trade on RabbitX in a way that both provides liquidity and earns passive yield for you. The ‘passively active’ FAMM uses automated strategies so your capital is actively managed like a pro MM, while you passively stake and earn. With FAMM, you don’t need to be a pro market maker to LP on the RabbitX orderbook. Just deposit into the FAMM, and enjoy those yields! Not only can you make passive yield staking with FAMM, you can also earn RBX while doing so!The FAMM will be incentivized with 2.5% of RBX’s total supply (25m), rewarded to FAMM stakers on a weekly basis, equally weighted across all 31 RabbitX markets and new future markets.Your RBX rewards are based on your amount and time staked. The longer your staking time, and the larger your staking amount, the more RBX rewards. How rewards are earned will evolve along with RBX staking options….. veRBX is currently in the works 👀Trade. RabbitX: The New DeFi Liquidity BaselayerRabbitX is excited to announce a strategic relationship with Blast Futures Exchange (BFX) @BlastFutures. Blast Futures will be offering the most-liquid, fastest, sophisticated perps DEX on Blast on day 1.How do we know this? Because Blast Futures liquidity is built on RabbitX.RabbitX is rapidly growing due to our superior speed, liquidity, and infrastructure. One of the best ways to expand access and growth for the Bunny is to allow new projects to leverage our technology. A RabbitX infrastructure layer.RabbitX will be providing access to its deep orderbook liquidity, best-in-class execution, and superior UI to Blast Futures traders on @Blast_L2. Here’s why:🐇 The Benefits for RabbitX 🐇- Multichain Access: Allowing multichain trading activity expands RabbitX’s accessibility, visibility, and volume. We intend on continuing to grow our presence, this is only the beginning.- Aggregate Orderbook, Deeper Liquidity: Blast Futures integration expands RabbitX’s already robust liquidity. All trading activity on Blast Futures and RabbitX are powered by an aggregated orderbook. Trading fees are shared with RabbitX. This volume is beneficial for RabbitX just like volume traded directly on our UI is good too. All Blast Futures trades are RabbitX trades.- RabbitX Liquidity Baselayer: RabbitX is the new DeFi Liquidity Baselayer. During a gold rush, there’s a saying you should sell picks and shovels. RabbitX as the Liquidity Baselayer for other DEXs achieves this. Bullish! If you hold $RBX and are invested in the fundamentals and growth of RabbitX, we think this should excite you. We’re certainly excited about it :) 🐇There’s much more to come, be sure to follow @BlastFutures and @RabbitX_io to stay up to date!Trade. Earn. Win.🐇 BACK THE BUNNY 🐇

Liquidations and the Index Price: How RabbitX Protects TradersIn our previous post, we discussed how RabbitX prevents “scam wicks” from impacting your market orders. Now we want to cover how we protect you from cascading liquidations, aka “scam liquidations”.🐇 Example:Say a large trader gets liquidated on RabbitX, and his liquidation causes RabbitX’s orderbook price of LINK to plummet. This might start what’s known as “cascading liquidations”: when a series of liquidations causes an exacerbation of a price decline, and more and more traders get liquidated as a result. If this cascading liquidation situation were to happen, the LINK margin calls on RabbitX could be colloquially referred to as “scam liquidations”. Because the price of LINK would spike down in a way that’s not indicative of the true market price of LINK, rather a product of a mechanical process on RabbitX.Risk management and liquidations should be based on margin compliance and accurate market prices, and this event would not be based on the true market price of LINK.This would make people upset. Rightfully so.🐇 Here’s how RabbitX protects you 🐇Even as the LINK price was dumping on RabbitX as the large trader was liquidated, no one else would get margin called. Why? Because we’re not using the RabbitX price to determine margin compliance. On RabbitX, there are 2 prices:- the spot price on RabbitX- the index priceThe index price is what we use for liquidations. What is RabbitX's index price:It's the median price of an asset on multiple exchanges, both DEXs and CEXs, for every one of our perp markets. We use it to calculate the unrealized PnL of your positions. This is part of a trader's account-equity calculation, and is what we reference for margin compliance. So a RabbitX-specific price dump would never catalyze a liquidation on its own. You’re protected from scam liquidations the same way you’re protected from scam wicks!Addendum: In a situation where all exchanges were dumping, that is no longer a ‘scam’ price or liquidation. That is simply the market price. Crypto, as you may have noticed, is very volatile! However volatility peculiar to RabbitX will never put your market orders or margin compliance at risk.Of note: when we say things like “scam wicks” or “scam liquidations” please know we’re not saying any exchange where this happens is scamming you. There’s nothing immoral about it, it’s simply a risk-management decision. The use of “scam” is just common vernacular that means “a large movement specific to an exchange produced fills or liquidations that were worse than the prevailing market”. It’s not our term.Trade with confidence and security with the Bunny.Trade. Earn. Win. RabbitX.🐇 BACK THE BUNNY 🐇

Announcing RabbitX Fiat On-Ramp 🐇💸We're onboarding the next million traders into DeFi. Here’s how you can onramp directly onto RabbitX with just a credit card, in minutes 👇RabbitX is always improving the user experience, and we’ve just made the onboarding process easier for millions with our new RabbitX Fiat On-Ramp feature, powered by Transak One. We’re not just winning over existing DeFi traders, we’re actively working to create new ones.RabbitX fiat onramp allows users to deposit onto RabbitX with Visa, Mastercard, Sepa, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. You don’t need to have any ETH in your onchain wallet to do so, you go direct from credit card to DEX.Step 1:- Click Deposit in the RabbitX UI and input the USDT amountStep 2:- Select your payment currency. Once selected, the USDT equivalent amount for that currency will automatically be calculated.- For currency conversions, Transak uses a current market rate without slippage. Prime brokers & Perpetuals AggregatorsSeems like an odd pairing, but perps aggregators may be the prime brokers of crypto.Comparing and contrasting this TradFi concept and applying it to DeFi.What’s a prime broker (PB): a PB is a brokerage relationship with a client, typically an institutional one, hedge fund, etc.. The client sends trades to the PB, the PB sends them to an exchange, and the client gets their fill. The PB extends leverage to the client, sometimes a lot. Like a lot a lot. The most degenerate man of all time accomplished his positively insane deeds with the help of a PB (Bill Hwang, look him up):How does the PB work: it maintains relationships with exchanges and keeps sufficient capital handy so it can execute trades for clients. The exchange has rules that the PB must adhere to to maintain that relationship and route orders for their clients. This lets large clients conduct block trades and not worry about logistics of the order. If you’re the portfolio of WhaleChad Capital Management, you don’t want to concern yourself with the clerical process of your trades. You’ve got enough to worry about with the analysis, risk management, etc that goes into managing a portfolio. PB’s help with this.So where does the analogy with perps DEX aggregators (PDA) come in?A PDA isn’t like a regular DeFi spot aggregator (1inch, Matcha, etc.). Spot aggregators don’t give you leverage, $100 of one token gets you $100 of another. Once your swap is filled, the transaction is done.A spot DEX aggregator just vets for the best price, sends your order to the DEX, gets you your fill, and that’s it. No collateral or risk management considerations. Much easier.Perps allow leverage. To be extended margin, you need to have an account on the exchange. You need to deposit collateral. It’s not “place my trade and we’re done” like it is with spot aggregators. You have an open, leveraged position that requires an account. So how can you aggregate this? You may be able to start seeing the PB parallels here with PDAs.A PDA, or DeFi Prime Broker, will have “relationships” with the perps DEX exchanges (like RabbitX). They will have seats at these exchanges. Except these seats are API connections and smart contract functions.A PDA will be a vault you deposit into with connections to perps DEXs. It will then let you place your trade from there and route it to the most optimum exchange. All you need to do is deposit, then you can send your order to many perps DEXs at once. The PDA will have to abide by the risk management rules of the exchange the order is held at like a user trading directly would. If you want to close a trade and open another, it should be a relatively seamless experience. Closing your BTC long that was filled at dYdX and then opening an ETH short at RabbitX could be done all via one DeFi PB and a couple clicks from the same UI.We can replace a major TradFi business with vaults, essentially. The behind-the-scenes logistics will be taken care of by the PDA and you will get your order filled based on the best fill, funding rates, or whatever parameters you place when you send it.Personally, I think DeFi prime brokers is better branding than DEX aggregator. These are just reflections on the DeFi perps space and how it may develop. Things we're always thinking about at RabbitX.
RabbitX's 2023 Recap: Where We Started, What We Accomplished, and What’s NextIt’s been a hell of a 2023 for RabbitX. We achieved over $27 billion in total trading volume within 8 months of launch. We’ve had 20,000 unique addresses use the platform and have over 1,000 daily active traders. We’ve been building all of 2023 and 2022 leading up to this, in the depths of the bear. Every crypto winter flushes out weak hands and tourists. If you’re here to make a quick buck, you leave. If you’re here because you believe in DeFi for the long term, the thought never crosses your mind.No matter how horrible the price action, nothing changed for us, ever. Because none of us have any desire to be anywhere else. All through the bear we studied our competitors, the intricacies of product design, the flows of the user experience, and did our very best to create the greatest piece of technology and platform we possibly could. The result is RabbitX. And we’re nowhere close to done yet. We’re so grateful to every single one of you who’s ever used the platform and placed enough faith in us to deposit USDT and try us out. Even if your tech is great, it means nothing without users and a community. Scam Wicks, Liquidations, and the Index Price: How RabbitX Protects TradersHere are 3 charts of TRB for Binance, Hyperliquid, and RabbitX. Note the lowest wick on each chart. Someone got filled at a not-so-great price here.Binance:Hyperliquid:RabbitX:RabbitX’s risk controls protect against what's known as “scam wicks”. These large price swings won’t liquidate you or give you bad fills with the Bunny. Here’s how 👇In the Binance and Hyperliquid charts, what likely happened is someone got a little screwed by a thin orderbook, and had a market buy execute at what’s known as a “scam wick” price. This means the price materially deviated from the normal range and then quickly reverted, suggesting the price was a result of sparse liquidity.RabbitX prevents this by using an "index price", and then capping market orders AND liquidations based on it. This prevents scam wicks from giving bad fills and erroneous liquidations. Here’s how!On RabbitX, there are 2 prices:- the spot price on RabbitX- the index priceThe index price is what we use for liquidations and protecting market orders. What is RabbitX's index price:It's the median price of an asset on multiple exchanges, both DEXs and CEXs, for every one of our perp markets. We use it to calculate the funding rate and unrealized PnL of your positions. This is part of a trader's account-equity calculation when determining margin compliance. We also use it for market orders. Here’s why this scam fill can’t happen with us:We cap market orders 5% away from the index price. So when you send a market order, you're effectively sending a limit order that has a 5% range for execution. If the only fill available on RabbitX is >5% away from the index price, the order is cancelled and can’t be filled. We protect you from erroneous fills and bad execution this way. Risk management is always front of mind for us. Always. In the next part, we’ll discuss how we protect traders from faulty liquidations.Trade. Earn. Win.In confidence 🐇

On RabbitX Risk Management: Real-Time Proof of Solvency (RTPOS) We’d like to break down what’s happening under the hood of the fastest-growing (and fastest) DEX in DeFi. Risk management is, and always will be, one of the key pillars of RabbitX. Our unwavering, autistic dedication to security and solvency works to ensure the safety of all our traders and our DEX. You’re only as strong as your weakest link. TL;DR, we are always solvent. We accomplish this via our RTPOS risk engine, and we’d like to explain how it works. Especially as it relates to PnL and unrealized profit manipulation. Derivatives and leverage introduce layers of complexity. To ensure solvency with every single trade AND withdrawal, RabbitX adheres to a strict monitoring of all traders’ positions, equity, PnL, and order margin. This is what we mean by RTPOS: we check for all of this (margin compliance + exchange solvency) on every. single. order. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN RABBITX TRADERS PLACE A TRADE: Every time an action is effected (this means both for trades AND withdrawals) we run a risk check that looks at: - The trader’s margin requirements to make sure they can make the trade/withdrawal (account-level check). - All traders’ total equity across the entire exchange (including unrealized PnL). We make sure this always lines up 1:1 with deposited collateral (exchange-level check). This is all done at once, atomically, in less than 0.001 seconds. We can support thousands of trades per second this way. How do we accomplish this? Our RTPOS adheres to the ACID framework (atomicity, consistency, isolation, durability). Each order (and withdrawal) on RabbitX is simulated before it's confirmed. This way, every transaction can be checked hypothetically and rejected in a single atomic operation if it violates account margin OR exchange solvency. This is RTPOS and the security and protections you get on RabbitX. Our high-performance matching engine is built using Tarantool, an in-memory database with an expressive programming language called Lua. Tarantool is what we used to create a blazing-fast, ultra-precise exchange that’s robust enough to handle leveraged positions with billions of volume. Written in C, we recognized early on that Tarantool was the right database to build the system architecture of RabbitX. With this model, we’re able to total all traders equity, PnL, and account margin at once atomically. This is how we ensure that the exchange’s assets are always greater than or equal to trader’s equity in real-time. Every single order. And every single withdrawal. We are the fastest-growing DEX in DeFi, and it’s this attention to detail that matters on our way to becoming the biggest in DeFi, and then…. who knows :) Our risk engine is the fortress that protects traders. It audits everything in real-time with ultra-low latency. A good exchange should operate a little paranoid, always concerned about its risk parameters and protections. When it comes to risk, we are paranoid. We’ve set up the exchange to survive and manage all the swoons and crashes that go along with market cycles. Because eventually the tide always goes out, and then who’s been left skinny dipping is exposed. We always have our swimsuits on 🐰 On RabbitX your assets are always onchain, with 24/7 RTPOS checks happening constantly. No rehypothecation or comingling of customer and treasury funds. Trade size with confidence on the Bunny Trade. Earn. Win. RabbitX.

Level 1: you only provide your personal information without uploading photo ID Level 2: provide photo ID Step 5 (optional, if doing L2 KYC): Scan your phone to upload photo ID and selfie You’ll be notified that your information is received and when it’s approved It typically only takes 3 min for L2 KYC to be approved, in some cases it can take up to 24 hours. Step 6: Add your credit card information Step 7: Confirm your wallet address and final amount You’ll be able to see the fee breakdown for the transfer. Your total charges and USDT deposit are shown again to confirm accuracy. Step 8: You can track your deposit onchain. This shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes, sometimes as little as 1 min. You’ll receive an email from Transak on how to track your USDT deposit onchain. Once completed, you'll get a notification from RabbitX and see your successful deposit on RabbitX under the Transfers tab and you can start trading! Important: users never need to worry about losing money with RabbitX fiat on-ramp. All transactions are tracked and if there is any issue, RabbitX will ensure your funds are credited. RabbitX Fiat On-Ramp RabbitX is always improving the user experience, and we’ve just made the onboarding process easier for millions with our new Fiat On-Ramp feature, powered by Transak One. RabbitX fiat onramp allows users to deposit onto RabbitX with bank wire, Visa, Mastercard, Sepa, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. You don’t need to have any ETH in your onchain wallet to do so, you go direct from credit card to RabbitX. Step 1: Click Deposit in the RabbitX UI and input the USDT amount Your wallet is automatically populated from the one you have connected, you cannot change it manually. If it’s not the wallet you want the funds to be sent to, please connect a different wallet to your browser extension and restart. Step 2: Select your payment currency. Once selected, the USDT equivalent amount for that currency will automatically be calculated. For currency conversions, Transak uses a current market rate without slippage. In our example here, 50 USDT is the equivalent of 66.59 Singapore Dollars (SGD). If you choose USD, you can send it as a wire. You will see the fee for the service and the total amount to be deducted from your payment method. If you wish to change your USDT deposit amount, please close the widget and re-input a new USDT amount in Step 1 Step 3: Provide your email and input the verification code. You’ll receive a notification when the deposit is made to RabbitX and we’ll also send the transaction hash so you can track your onchain deposit. RT @rabbitx_io: A Lens into RabbitX: Infrastructure, Diagnosing an Issue, and Shipping a Fix We recently had a large trader complain of latency issues.

RT @rabbitx_io: RabbitX has been non-stop shipping in the background with new releases that include major UI/UX improvements, bug fixes, and feature releases. Here's a brief recap of these last several weeks: 1. Add liquidation price on chart view Users were unable to clearly see their liquidation prices of active open positions on the trading view chart. With this change, users are now able to see an orange 'Liq Price' indicator on their charts. 2. Redesigned trading popups/overlays The following popups/overlays went through a full overhaul to provide consistency and an improved user experience with a more cohesive flow in mind when placing/amending orders. • Closing positions • SL/TP • Amend Orders • Chart Trading • Quick Trade / Orderbook Trading • Cancel Order/All 3. Notification revamp We felt like our exchange had heaps of redundant notifications that could either be removed and/or replaced by making actions unperformable instead of spamming the user with confusing error messages. Additionally, the max notification stack has been set to 2 to avoid screen filling up with notifications. Notifications removed for: • Placing order • Cancelling order • Amending order • Profile data connection lost/reconnected 4. Option to remove order confirmation popups Tired of clicking "confirm" every time you change an order? There's good news for those need-for-speed traders! You can now disable confirmation pop-ups. Just check a box, and your trades will be executed immediately, saving you valuable time. 5. Orderbook trading just got a major upgrade Blaze through orders: Left-click any row for a quick trade window - execute in just 2 clicks! Set prices in a flash: Right-click a row to instantly set that price in your order panel. No more time wasted typing! Trade. Earn. Win.

$Friend /Fantasy/DistrictOne 会带来怎样的加密原生体验?
RT @0xAdrianzy: RabbitX Thesis - sleeping giant white labeled perp dex While decentralised perps remain saturated as a sector and tricky to invest in, from a product perspective, orderbooks have clearly demonstrated superiority with lower fees, deeper liquidity, and a better overall UX. The top 7 perp dexes by trading volume all run on an orderbook model (with the exception of Vertex, which runs a hybrid model) @rabbitx_io is a well-funded team adopting the dYdX v3 playbook that trades significantly cheaper to peers at est. ~0.96 FDV/Revenue based on conservative assumptions while traction continues to increase amidst strong competition. 24Q1 was a big quarter for RabbitX despite lagging price action: - Launched market making vaults with Elixer → first pioneered by Hyperliquid and acts as a driver for TVL + deeper liquidity on the books. TVL has 2xed since launch - Launched @BlastFutures, a frontend on blast that routes through the RabbitX orderbook. Blastfutures did $11b volume in April which would rank it at #4 among perp dexes if tracked on Artemis. Upcoming catalysts that could trigger a rerating: - $BFX airdrop for $RBX holders in June not fully priced in. - Fee switch - long hinted by the team to turn on a fee switch for buybacks / rev share for stakers. Though protocol fees are currently unknown assumptions based on dYdX v3 take rate can be made for rough estimates (see comps table below) - Further white labeling the orderbook → following the success of BlastFutures, RabbitX team have prioritised multichain deployment to other chains that continue to drive value back to the RabbitX orderbook and $RBX - $HL Launch from @HyperliquidX could rerate lagging perp tokens - @BackTheBunny is incredibly based Risks - $BFX token launch creates uncertainty around value accrual - although the team has stated all value acrues back to $RBX, there could be community confusion surrounding two tokens that trade via the same order book. Although this is somewhat hedged based on team comments: - Incentive-driven trading - perp dexes are quite PvP and much volume is driven by incentives. $RBX has 7.5% supply for MM incentives and an ongoing airdrop program that rebates traders based on fees paid. Comps RabbitX is a) significantly more capital efficient and b) trading at much lower multiples than majority of its peers (based on a conservative take rate of 0.02%) Base case strategy would be to buy and hold til BFX airdrop while continuously monitoring team clarification on where the two tokens stand in terms of value accrual.

Understanding Funding Rate Arbitrage and Its Profit Potential on RabbitX What is Funding Rate Arbitrage? It's a strategy used by market makers and hedge funds to collect funding payments in a delta-neutral way. It has high return potential and a low-risk profile, and it doesn't get enough attention in retail. Read on to learn how to deploy this strategy on RabbitX. Prior to RabbitX, some team members were involved in hedge fund basis trading and funding arbitrage. Over ~3 years, some saw only one down month (-0.3%) using this strategy. On average, returns can be 15-30% in bear markets, and up to 5-10x higher in bulls. 🐇 Let's review a funding rate arb framework: 🐇 • Binance positions have funding cycles every 8hrs: 00:00, 08:00, 16:00 • RabbitX operates hourly • Both funding formulas are nearly identical over an 8hr span. CRITICAL INSIGHT: If you close a position on Binance a second before the 8hr mark, you won't be charged. Example: if you had a $1M long position at 01:00:00, held it until 07:59:58, then closed prior to 8:00:00, you get no funding charges on Binance. 🐇 Strategy for Positive Funding Rate Arb: 🐇 (positive funding rate means longs pay shorts) - Keep a short position on RabbitX (collect the funding payment hourly) - Place a commensurate long position on Binance. You only pay the funding rate at the end of 8hrs. You're delta neutral this whole time, meaning you have no exposure to price changes of the underlying (eg if you're short $1M BTC on RabbitX, and long $1M BTC on Binance, your exposure to BTC price is neutral). You're just collecting that sweet, sweet funding rate the whole time with no price exposure 🤌 In hours 7-8: This is the crucial window to unwind your RabbitX and Binance positions to be neutral by the Binance 8hr mark. If you miss this mark then you miss your profits, because Binance will charge you funding and it will offset what you were earning from RabbitX. After the funding payment mark, you can re-enter your positions and continue earning. For Negative Funding Rates: Just reverse the positions. - Long on RabbitX: collect funding payments hourly - Short on Binance: no funding rate charges so long as you close prior to 8hr mark. Easy as 🤝 This can be a game-changer for traders looking to maximize profits with minimal risks. And RabbitX's gas-free trading and super-cheap fees make it all the more profitable. Happy trading!
