Bitcoin is mainstream. 90% of web3 users start with Bitcoin.However, there is a chasm between adoption and innovation: Ethereum and co. have become the source of experimentation and novelty. Bitcoin ossified. As a result, over the last decade Bitcoin experienced a drain of capital: both human and financial. No more. It is time to bring innovation back to Bitcoin, and L2s finally offer a solution. We realized that to build a successful Bitcoin L2 we need to solve 3 problems:The Bitcoin problem.Secure BTC bridges and inheriting BTC security is our bread and butter and something we've worked on for the last 9 years. Initially powered by battletested wBTC and MPC-based tBTC (t-of-n), BOB focuses on BitVM as enabler for a never-seen-before level of security for BTC bridges (1-of-n). By combining Bitcoin and Ethereum security we create the most secure L2 on the market. And whenever we see ZK verifiers on Bitcoin, BOB will be the first to support.The Ecosystem problem.L2s are blockchain-as-a-service products. We can only consider ourselves successful, if the teams and projects that build on BOB are successful. The Liquidity problem.Often overlooked, liquidity is key to the success of decentralized economies.
