@thorstarter· 9 months agoRT @jpthor: I support decentralised liquidity in all forms. Despite some at-times frustrating interactions with @kayabaNerve; they are also fighting the good fight. We tried, and failed, to ship XMR swaps due to the complexity of Monero (3 years ago). But I believe @kayabaNerve can ship @SeraiDEX and it will be a good thing for the world. Luke is implementing Serai from scratch by re-implementing most of TC's architecture in a new state machine, which is a huge task. Only someone of his determination and tenacity can grind thru this solo. I don't mind at all btw, think it's great. By going over TC's code line by line in his re-architecture, he has found and disclosed some bugs to us (which we have paid). Thus to keep the good will between parties, I offer to pay for Serai's auditing costs, up to a maximum of $250k. Luke can reach out to me in DM when they are ready for the audit. As for the previous bounty/bug disclosure, I defer back to THORSec/9R, but the bounty payout was approved when it was submitted for treasury sign-off. Onwards.

Liquidity will flow from centralised exchanges to decentralised protocols - Bitcoin & stablecoins is the single most important rail - The main liquidity venue needs a decentralised, capture resistant, anon validator set with hard economic security - Lindy & battle hardening isn’t optional - Validators (& token by proxy) must be sufficiently distributed - LPs shouldn’t interact directly with swappers (need CLP) THORChain is far and away the dominant cross chain DEX. It’s the community’s job to harden it into the base liquidity layer of DeFi. Who’s with me?

You can choose a centralised custodian and accept asset seizure risk; or a decentralised custodian and accept protocol risk. The former is impossible to quantify “who is going to seize my Bitcoin today”. TC being open, accessible and auditable is far easier to reason about. Incredible that maxis would prefer you to choose the centralised custodian over a decentralised one; when those risks are on the table.

Therefore, I believe that $RUNE is now in a repricing mode, looking for its Fair Market Value. So, to accommodate those changes, I have moved all levels up (Be aware, this is a biased take; if you don't like it, make your own chart). Undervalued is now everything below $20 Fair Market Value is placed between $20 and $50. Speculative premium is between $50 and $150 Froth starts at $150 Please be aware that this is a fun experiment and shouldn't be taken too seriously. To understand the context, please check previous tweets. I won't change these levels for at least 2 years until everything is properly priced in.

This is because all these loans being open caused price appreciation. And because of this, the caps have only been filled by 2% since yesterday. And we have another 73% to go.

If BTC goes from $60k to $300k and (in theory) 100% of TVL was comprised of Bitcoin, the RUNE and CACAO would also 5x at a minimum2) people lock more assets into the protocol. If these protocols each had 100 BTC to start and then someone deposits another 400 BTC, the price of RUNE and CACAO increase by 5x *even if the price of BTC is flat*What causes the speculative multiple to rise?1) Anticipation of future TVL increases 2) Wild degen behaviorAnd in this mega bull market, we’re looking at a situation where • the average price appreciation of assets held by TC and Maya is probably going to 5x• more people are going to lock their assets into TC’s ThorFi and Maya’s upcoming Aztec release to get yield as LPs/Depositors, causing TVL to rise by at least 2x• The speculative multiple expands as degens just buy what tokens are going up, causing the speculative multiple to 2x or more from hereSo if you look at those assumptions and generally agree, you’re looking at a 20x return from the current levels (offset by minimal token dilution). And if you think the amount of new assets is going to 10x instead of 2x, that return becomes 100x. You can look at the supported tokens by each chain to come up with an even more granular projection. That’s why it’s hard to be anything but extremely bullish on RUNE and CACAO. And what’s even more exciting is that a very large amount of CACAO’s TVL is anchored to RUNE given Maya’s largest pool, the RUNE-CACAO pool. As RUNE’s price rises, so does CACAO. So CACAO benefits not just from the the TVL increased inside the CACAO ecosystem, but also the increases in the Thorchain ecosystem. And full disclosure, this isn’t a magic money fountain. All of these traits work against RUNE and CACAO on the way down, making them vulnerable when we peak and the market turns downBut because I don’t expect us to peak for another 12-20 months…I’m just going to sit back and watch these tokenomics deliver
