Aave is a decentralized finance protocol for borrowing and lending, where users can participate as depositors or borrowers. Depositors provide liquidity to the market to earn a passive income, while borrowers are able to borrow in an overcollateralized (perpetually) or undercollateralized (one-block liquidity) fashion. AAVE is used as the center of gravity of Aave Protocol governance, allowing users to vote and decide on the outcome of Aave Improvement Proposals (AIPs).
