on @cdixon's Read Write Own:After working in crypto for the past 7 years and having spoken to Chris a couple times, I still find this book extremely insightful. Focusing on blockchain enabling a different type of network provides a different mental model to think of what blockchain enables. I believe this combines the best of commonly held ideas around blockchain's advantages like "a global computer that makes commitment", "democratize means of production" and "incentive for bootstrapping early networks" to formalize into a much more complete mental model around blockchain networks vs existing protocol networks and corporate networks. This is also a great book for beginners getting into crypto. While fully admitting the speculation, scam or "casino" part of blockchains, Chris did a great job of painting the bright future ahead by breaking down blockchains' technical complexity that enables full expressiveness for building networks. I can't imagine how much time he must have spent to make it easy to read as Chris is one of the smartest people I've spoken to.
