@SenatorTimScott My response to Senator Haggerty: https://t.co/iTyxkeGElc
Thank you @SenatorTimScott and the entire Senate Banking Committee for hosting its first hearing on comprehensive crypto market structure legislation today. In a refreshing change from the rhetoric of the Gensler years, every Senator affirmed that crypto technology is here to stay and deserves rules of the road. The legislative process is rarely simple, but we’re past the starting line, and that in and of itself is a MAJOR step that gives me hope that the US can make up for lost ground.
Joined @SquawkCNBC this morning to discuss institutional stablecoin momentum and how trusted banks like BNY (just announced as RLUSD’s reserve banking partner today!) are ready to go all in on crypto with regulatory clarity. The US is long overdue for crypto market structure legislation which will protect consumers, establish jurisdictional swim lanes, and allow financial innovation to thrive. https://t.co/Sb50E8GAXc
@BankingGOP My full testimony for the hearing is available here: https://t.co/NHTh8wKQMc
Ahead of the @BankingGOP hearing tomorrow, let me introduce you to some of the 55 million Americans that own and use crypto. I am testifying tomorrow BECAUSE these are the very people who deserve market clarity. Time and again, the skeptics insist on stereotyping crypto holders, but that’s simply not reality. These are real faces of crypto – take a look at their stories from @NatCryptoAssoc:
I am honored to be invited to testify in front of the Senate Banking Committee this Wednesday on the need for passing crypto market structure legislation. Thank you to @BankingGOP Chairman @SenatorTimScott, @SenLummis and @SenRubenGallego (as leaders of the Subcommittee for Digital Assets). Your leadership - both with this hearing and over the years in championing the crypto industry - has been critical to getting us to this important moment. Constructive crypto market structure legislation in the US is imperative in bringing about a new era of innovation and financial opportunity, while protecting consumers.
True to our long-standing compliance roots, @Ripple is applying for a national bank charter from the OCC. If approved, we would have both state (via NYDFS) and federal oversight, a new (and unique!) benchmark for trust in the stablecoin market. Earlier in the week via @StandardCustody, we also applied for a Fed Master account -- while Congress is working towards clear rules and regulations, and banks (in a far cry from the years of Operation Chokepoint 2.0) are leaning in, this access would allow us to hold $RLUSD reserves directly with the Fed and provide an additional layer of security to future proof trust in RLUSD. Ripple always has and will continue to build trusted, battle-tested and secure infrastructure. In a $250B+ market, RLUSD stands out for putting regulation first, setting the standard that institutions expect.
Okay, it seems my post has raised a few more questions – first off, XRP and shares of Ripple are very different things. This post is ONLY about shares in Ripple. Linqto is a very separate company that bought shares in Ripple from some of our existing shareholders. It should be reassuring that we (Ripple) are able to confirm that Linqto owns 4.7M shares of Ripple. I have no idea how Linqto managed the participants to whom they sold “representative units” of Ripple shares and thus I can’t provide any reassurance about Linqto’s business practices or how they will handle it now. The good news is that the value of Ripple shares has increased significantly over time and there should be considerable gains on those shares for ‘Linqto unitholders’
Understandably, there have been many questions from those who believed they were buying Ripple shares from Linqto, and what happens next. To be clear, on Ripple’s end: What we know from our records is Linqto owns 4.7M shares of Ripple, solely purchased on the secondary market from other Ripple shareholders (never directly from Ripple). Apart from Linqto being a shareholder, Ripple has never had a business relationship with Linqto, nor have they participated in our financing rounds. We stopped approving more Linqto purchases on secondary markets in late 2024 amid growing skepticism.
Ripple is dropping our cross appeal, and the SEC is expected to drop their appeal, as they’ve previously said. We’re closing this chapter once and for all, and focusing on what’s most important – building the Internet of Value. Lock in.

RT @SenatorHagerty: Tonight, the Senate moved forward on the GENIUS Act. This groundbreaking, bipartisan legislation will bring America’s payment system into the 21st century. The GENIUS Act skyrockets the United States with a digital payment framework with the fastest rails possible. It will ensure U.S. dollar dominance. Customers will be protected, the demand for U.S. treasuries will balloon to the tune of more than $1 trillion, and innovation in the digital asset space will thrive in the United States going forward. I look forward to making history with my colleagues this week.
Heading to DC to champion sensible pro-crypto legislation around stablecoins and market structure, and I’m very encouraged to see our elected officials look at crypto as it should be – a multichain industry. That said, @SenLummis, as Chair of the Digital Assets Subcommittee, canceled a meeting with me (and won’t reschedule). As a leader in Congress and Senator from one of the most crypto-friendly states (WY), I hope you will reconsider and be a leader for ALL of crypto. I invite you to join me on an X Space anytime (or a live convo onstage at one of the many events we cross paths at) to talk about how to make the US the crypto capital of the world, as is the goal of the Trump Administration. I will continue to do everything possible to support that goal.

Q1’25 was an incredible quarter for Ripple, with our acquisition of Hidden Road and end to the SEC case, not to mention institutional interest in XRP ETPs globally. Moving forward, the XRP Markets Report will look a little different. As some may remember, the objective of publishing these reports starting in 2017 was transparency into Ripple’s holdings of XRP, which unfortunately was then used against us by the SEC and others. Our commitment to transparency doesn’t change with this evolution -- we will continue to publish our XRP holdings on https://t.co/M2Jg4dTKON. Ripple & XRP-related ongoing updates will also be shared through existing social channels, rather than collated for a single, end of the quarter update.

Great to be back with @LizClaman today to chat about Ripple’s historic acquisition of prime broker Hidden Road and what this means for the broader crypto market, as the US takes a much-needed pro-innovation approach with new leadership. We’re moving past the SEC’s war on crypto and entering the next phase of the market - true institutional flows integrating with decentralized finance.
RT @business: Ripple is acquiring prime-brokerage Hidden Road for $1.25 billion, marking the largest deal ever for the digital-asset company and one of the biggest in the history of the cryptocurrency industry https://t.co/ZuolDcwCXb
Today, @Ripple announced the acquisition of Hidden Road for $1.25B, one of the largest deals ever in the crypto space. But the price tag isn’t what’s most important – it’s that this deal marks a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for crypto to access the largest and most trusted traditional markets, and vice versa. Prime brokers (along with other key functions historically managed by banks for the most part) like Hidden Road have proven themselves as *the* trusted intermediary for the largest hedge funds, market makers, OTC desks, quant traders and more. Ripple has been a customer of Hidden Road for years, and we know their breadth of expertise firsthand, clearing $3 TRILLION annually for 300+ of the top financial institutions globally. This is the capital and activity that will tap into XRP and the XRP Ledger’s bread-and-butter – instant, efficient, scalable and low cost movement of value. Instead of waiting for <24 hours to settle trades through fiat rails, Hidden Road will be using XRPL for clearing a portion of trades, and most consequentially, using RLUSD as collateral across its prime brokerage services, including cross-asset (crypto and traditional instrument) trades. With this deal and the backing of Ripple’s significant balance sheet, Hidden Road will exponentially expand its capacity to service its pipeline and become the largest non-bank prime broker globally. Ripple and Hidden Road combined are a generational leap forward, ready to truly bring the worlds of traditional and decentralized finance together. https://t.co/UYOOyQ21dG

Some weeks feel like months in crypto...this was one of them. From the @WhiteHouse Crypto Summit to the @CFTC CEO Roundtable and the sheer amount of news announced (hooray for @NatCryptoAssoc!), it’s been quite a few days. There’s been a lot of talk about what this White House has and will prioritize with their crypto agenda - most importantly, regulatory clarity through Congressional action, as well as a BTC reserve & crypto stockpile, support for stablecoin innovation backed by US Treasuries, and more. I was extremely pleased to see the incredible support from this administration. It’s easy to get lost in some of the maxi-induced noise, but there’s so much more to this industry than the infighting and one coin versus another time-wasting rhetoric. We will – as we’ve always done -- continue to champion the need for a level playing field (and it was great to hear others in the room echo this as well!) and for the industry to come together to move much needed legislation forward in the US. An incredible THANK YOU to @realdonaldtrump for opening and welcoming us to the White House (amazing contrast to the the hostility of the Biden administration), @davidsacks47 and @BoHines for a truly historic Summit, and @carolinedpham for hosting us at the CFTC!

Some thoughts on maximalism… let me say this as clearly as I can – the crypto industry has a real shot, here and now, to achieve the many goals we have in common, IF we work together instead of tearing each other down. This is not, and never will be, a zero-sum game. • I own XRP, BTC, and ETH among a handful of others – we live in a multichain world, and I’ve advocated for a level-playing field, instead of one token versus another. • If a govt digital asset reserve is created - I believe it should be representative of the industry, not just one token (whether it be BTC, XRP or anything else). • Maximalism remains the enemy of crypto progress, and I’m very glad to see fewer and fewer folks ascribe to this outdated and misinformed thinking.
Slow weekend, anything exciting happen?
@BitcoinPierre Unless you are choosing to ignore the core tenants of the POTUS campaign (which aggressively supports American companies and technologies), our efforts are actually INCREASING the likelihood of a crypto strategic reserve (which includes bitcoin) happening.
Still riding high from all the Inauguration events in DC this weekend! From the Crypto Ball, to the VP dinner, to the POTUS dinner, to sitting in the Capitol yesterday - there’s palpable excitement for all the good that’s possible leveraging crypto and blockchain… here in the US (finally!) and globally. One definition of insanity.... Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Gensler's SEC really took this to heart.
Gensler, very much on brand - completely dismissive of the 2024 election and the American public - fully commits to his failed ‘regulation-by-enforcement agenda to the bitter, bitter end. #Sad

2025 is here and the Trump bull market is real. For Ripple, this is even more personal after Gensler's SEC effectively froze our business opportunities here at home for years. The optimism is obvious and very deserved. Today: ✅75% of Ripple’s open roles are now US-based, while over the last 4 years, the vast majority of hires were outside the US ✅We signed more US deals in the last six weeks of 2024 (since the election) than the previous six MONTHS Team Trump is already jumpstarting innovation and job growth in the US with Scott Bessent, David Sacks, Paul Atkins and others at the helm, and they aren’t even in office yet! Say what you want, but the “Trump effect” is already making crypto great again – through his campaign, and in the Administration’s day 1 priorities.
Today, here in the US, we welcomed the 119th Congress—better known as the most pro-crypto Congress in history. The journey is just beginning, but you can’t deny the energy & excitement already building across the industry. Let’s get to work.
Happy New Year to the XRP Family and the entire crypto community!!! Excited for the year ahead! Momentum and increased focus on real world utility continues to build 🚀

RT @illneil: Things 60 minutes got wrong about crypto / XRP / Ripple 🧵
Crypto made its debut on @60Minutes tonight – there’s no doubt that these technologies will continue to become more and more mainstream - with influence and reach that will only continue to grow. A few things I do want to comment on after watching: I spoke with Margaret Brennan / 60Minutes for 90+ min straight. When discussing the SEC’s misguided lawsuit against Ripple, 60Minutes shockingly left out that a Federal Judge ruled that XRP is not a security…Gensler’s shill (John Reed Stark) knows better despite his comments that 60Minutes chose to air. Lastly, to say crypto has no utility is exactly what the naysayers said about the Internet in its earliest days - that it’s nothing more than illicit activity. How vastly they were proven wrong. Today, even JPMorgan is coming around on blockchain… (conveniently 60Minutes also failed to mention that Ripple is doing billions of dollars of KYC-ed transactions for our institutional customers - leveraging XRP to move money cross-border more efficiently than traditional payment rails.) https://t.co/yPe5oKTq5Q
