(https://t.co/ahc03n46nQ). there are thousands of evm chains that leverage evm - dont see how this is different this is like saying “every modular chain” doesnt exist - using an alternative vm by definition means you inherit past work and build on top of it. we’ve done a lot to take it further with our fast finality architecture, native gas fee, staking, etc. as for aligned layer, i think im an investor in your seed lol and lets just say most investors have given up. you raised two rounds from mutual investors and when they asked me during the diligence process i noted that you were a flight risk - turns out i was right (attached is one of your biggest investors). but lets keep going into aligned 1) you asked me for help in august to discuss ur tge and i dropped everything to help you 2) you rugged me and the entire investor base for aligned by quitting few months in to focus on a random startup called rogue? 3) 2 months later you pitched me an @KaitoAI competitor and i declined because we had already signed kaito 4) you guys have complained incessantly about the market and exchanges. maybe this hate is coming from the fact that aligned is struggling - no pmf and no gtm. anyways my door is always open for you and i hope we can change your mind about movement as i think lambda class is a great research group. mainnet launch announced at denver. markets go up and down - atleast im not a quitter. movement.

But a big part of S3's value also comes from the data that it stores. If you think about it, the data stored on S3 probably generates trillions of dollars of economic activity every year. If S3 had its own market cap, the mission criticality of the data stored on it would probably contribute significantly to the value. In other words, S3 is valuable because it allows people to store data easily, at scale. But it's even more valuable because of the kind of data that is stored on it. If one believes this to be true (and I do), then how valuable is the coordination layer (AWS control plan) that makes S3 work reliably day after day? Now, replace S3 with @WalrusProtocol and AWS control plane with @SuiNetwork. Assuming Walrus is able to price itself competitively, people will store stuff there. If we can get people to store really valuable data on Walrus, the market will then price Walrus accordingly. If Walrus ends up storing mission-critical data at scale, then its coordination layer will be priced accordingly as well. For many reasons, I think S3 was primarily responsible for AWS' ascent to "too big to fail" status. For most businesses, compute is portable (CPUs are CPUs) but storage isn't always portable due to vendor lock-in through high egress costs. Also wondering if @b_fiive / Iroh have interesting use cases. Essentially a CID is a content identifier for a piece of data. You derive a CID through hashing the data. IPLD (interplanetary linked data) structures are used under the hood (each root CID represents a merkle tree structure recursively through child CIDs) CIDs can be used to represent static data AND function data. So imagine a situation where you have two CIDs: (1) for a lambda like training function and (2) for a directory of training data. You can now verifiably compute the result of passing data CID 2 through function CID 1. I'm heading to a coworking space with people from this ecosystem tomorrow in Thailand! Let me find some good examples in the wild cc @IPFS @IPLDbot @multihash

@n1ckler· 11 months agoIt's cool to see that people keep thinking about optimizing t-of-n threshold signatures and bring their perspectives. But this is quite an extraordinary claim and I don't see a security proof. So the scheme is most likely broken. A few notes after skimming though the slides: - The single round signing in your scheme requires a "pool of nonces" created during a preprocessing phase. Moreover, to compute Lagrange coefficient lambda during signing, the signer needs to know who is participating. FROST/ROAST support that as well, so by your definition they do support single-round signing. - The "binding value" appears to be computed insecurely. As shown in FROST, it needs to include message and the set of signers participating, otherwise concurrent signing is vulnerable to, e.g., Wagner's attack. - Sharing the nonces is a well known technique (see Stinson and Strobl, 2001) but in order to actually obtain robustness it typically needs an honest majority of signers and more rounds. - DKG certainly requires more rounds than you describe. In your example, the participants haven't even checked whether their shares are consistent, let alone agree . - your "VSE" should certainly hash the output (look up Cheon's attack). See how we solve encryption in BIP DKG using static-ephemeral DH: https://t.co/2Okmnbb2Q4 You also want to look up Publicly Verifiable Secret Sharing (PVSS), which is the same primitive you're trying to instantiate but is typically more complicated. - I didn't look at "mutation" because doing that securely is very difficult.
