RT @zkayAPE: Pokemon TCG RWA on Solana has been quietly gaining traction, having done over $6.4M in revenue and $95M in total volume so far, despite being a relatively new sector onchain. @Collector_Crypt, one of the earliest players remains the frontrunner, averaging over $1.2M/month in gross revenue (net of buybacks). Most of this revenue comes from Gacha where $49.5M+ has been spent by 3004 unique wallets on Collector Crypt, averaging $16.5k/user. Gacha is the main revenue driver across the board with over $50M spent across the sector. Newer entrants like @TCG_Emporium and @Phygitals have already generated $163k and $665k respectively just from gacha spending alone, showing strong stickiness and spend despite much smaller user base for the TCG RWA sector. These gacha systems are akin to IRL oripas (gambling blind box), offering instant buyback based on 80 – 85% of card value , speeding up the gambling loop. Platforms also offer attractive chases (e.g Collector Crypt has ponchos as chase for gacha), further boosting the engagement. The secondary marketplace activity is growing too and while it is still smaller than gacha, it has recorded marketplace volumes totalling up to $440k as a sector. Emporium recorded a $11.3k top sales for Mario Pikachu card and a top sales of $9.3k was also recorded on Collector Crypt for a Poncho Pikachu card recently. While relatively new, tokenization of TCG like Pokemon seems to see a PMF emerging, with high user spending despite low DAU. Perhaps it could help to solve existing problems on the Web2 front – fragmented liquidity, fraud in IRL oripas/rip & ship or high marketplace fees (eg eBay) and can unlock more offerings onchain with instant accessibilty. The numbers seen here is just a small slice of the broader TCG market, and perhaps there could be more room to scale and onboard more users. Is there any token for any of the 3? Not at the moment, but the closest will be Collector Crypt which will be launched on Metaplex Genesis launchpad soon. Will be interesting to see how this sector will play out eventually. For more information on the numbers of Collector Crypt, Phygitals and Emporium, check out the Dune dashboard I created here: https://t.co/QcUQlmjroJ

RT @tcaff_: If you’re still into web3 gaming, here’s why you need to pivot to @Fableborne: 1. We have true, data backed, battle-tested conviction in Fableborne from a core loop, player progression, and marketability perspectives. 1a. Pixion Games, our studio creating Fableborne, has killed 5 games prior to Fableborne. Emotional ties, hard work, and lots of time went into those 5. But as we know in game dev, you have to cut your losses when you know it won’t be a hit. Gaming is a hits driven business. You either create a mega hit, or you die. The space is too consolidated to be good, great or exceptional. You need to be a hit. 1b. So why didn’t we kill Fableborne and why do we believe it will be a hit? If you’re doing it right, each game you “kill” should get you one step closer to your hit title. Time not wasted, and taking learnings along the way. As I said above, we’ve performed marketability tests and battle tested Fableborne over and over. When the data is as strong as it was for Fableborne, you go all in. Now it’s up to our team to execute and deliver. 1c. Speaking of the team, how do we know that the people looking at this data I’m talking about know how to use it and execute upon it? I can go on and on about every one of our 25 team members, but let’s look at 2 key players: The man leading the charge @Kam_Punia, our founder, does not lose. I see lots of Pokemon and Magic The Gathering TCG fans in Web3. Well Kam was given the impossible task of talking Yugioh at Konami, and beating out these two giants. He grew Yugioh to a 9 figure market in Europe and crushed them both. If that isn’t impressive to you, I SUMMON POT OF GREED AND DRAW TWO ADDITIONAL CARDS! We have @MariaFuzzyland. Lots of you web3 mfs post about the Grand Exchange and say RuneScape streets raised you. Maria, who leads our Product and Game design was the product manager at Jagex/Runescape for their live-ops and player UA funnels. I give you free armor trimming in Fableborne. TLDR, our team is stacked and the best in web3. 1d. Now does all of the above guarantee success? Of course not. But in this space you have the luxury of being able to place bets on success. Our conviction in Fableborne is more than strong. Our testing (pre-tge might I add not after 🥴) indicates we could have a hit on our hands. Which is why we are also confident in Fableborne leading the charge for $POWER and @PowerPrtcl. You don’t launch a token without max, data backed, battle tested conviction, and we have it in droves. 2. The game creates viral, organic hype. Much to the dismay of our community, Fableborne has only been live and playable for about 10-11 weeks in the last 14 months. Believe it or not. Yet it’s still touted as one of, and to many, the best game in web3. When we turn it on, it has taken over the timeline and CT mindshare every single time. Millions in earned media from true organic UGC. We haven’t done massive creator prize pools, info-fi slop, “ambassadors” who are paid shills renamed as ambassadors who are ambassadors for 50 different companies, etc. we’ve worked with some creators for sure, but the hype is real at large. For example, we’ve worked with @Kyroh, but it was not part of any of his deal to acquire 3% of our NFTs. He does that because he has max conviction and wants to be king. 2a. The above has been with Fableborne at ~35% of its full potential. It will only get more fun, more complete of an experience, more powerful. Some of these new systems will be available for you in S4 👀 I’m running out of characters. Join us. join Fableborne. Sentiment on gaming is at an all time low . Probably means there’s no better time to get in. If web3 gaming needs a hero , it just might be us . Gn

RT @Fitchinverse: Hello friends! I wanted to give an update on Parallel and my thoughts on the state of the industry right now First, web3 gaming got hit with a nuke. Projects closing left and right, tokens down 95%, NFTs going to zero, players drying up. It’s been rough. And it’s not just web3 gaming. Or even gaming. Microsoft and other major companies laying off thousands. There’s been a global wave that has hit companies across industries hard. To anyone who has been struggling through this period, I’m sorry. This is my fourth cycle now I think and it’s always brutal. Never gets any easier. And this one as a builder in web3 gaming felt especially rough. What tends to happen during these times is negatives are magnified and positives are diminished which breeds doomerism and toxicity. And this becomes a smothering air. This has happened to us as well, we are not immune to it. I have always prided ourselves on engaging the community and I think of late we have failed to do so. Partially because the longer you do this and the more negativity you deal with, the more important it becomes to protect your headspace. So you withdraw. I certainly did. But the time to engage the community directly is here again. In the coming weeks we will open up conversations with the community directly again and hear your feedback. We always watch and listen but it’s time to engage now. Time to make bold decisions. The announced Prime burn and discussed card burn should reflect this. We and Echelon are willing to do things we have never been willing to do before in order to meet your needs and to not just survive but to thrive. And to win. Now is the time to throw the deep ball. And so we will consult you as to how and where. Parallel is a special organization. And we have survived this rough period in the market. We have years of runway and more shots on goal in exciting directions than maybe any organization in our industry. The TCG is improving, Colony is coming, Wayfinder is iterating, Sanctuary is moving forward. New sinks. Prime chain. Opportunities for bold web3 decisions. Much is there to be done and much has been done. Yes we have made mistakes. But we also are fighting battles in an industry that periodically implodes on itself. I say this to say - we are with you and we want you with us. So yes, we have done some wrong, but haven’t we also done right? We remain a leader. We remain among the most successful companies in our industry. We have survived and have opportunities to thrive that nobody else has. And we are now willing to make decisions as we never have before. This post is me baring my heart with you. I’ve said since the beginning this sector was due for a reckoning. And that this is a ten year journey. That puts us roughly halfway through. I hope you’ll be with us in the second half //

RT @JaseTheWizard: Experiment #1: Sky Mavis: Pokémon × Ronin Paid Ads One of the key reasons I chose @SkyMavisHQ as my next adventure is their forward-thinking mindset and bold vision for the future. That, combined with the passion and dedication of the individuals and teams driving our industry forward, made it an easy decision. A big part of that mission involves running experiments to uncover new growth levers, both through product innovation and marketing initiatives. Welcome to the Growth Experiment Lab: a space where I’ll transparently share data-backed marketing strategies I’ve implemented or contributed to. Most of these experiments will stem from my current position at Sky Mavis, particularly around @Ronin_Network and @AxieInfinity. Each experiment will be clearly labeled, especially those that fall outside of this scope (more on that soon). This is very raw data, real insights straight from the trenches. Everything shared here has been approved by @Jihoz_Axie and the Sky Mavis team, as we believe it can offer real value to others working to grow in our industry. We all benefit when the entire space grows. So, I hope you find this useful and engaging. If you'd like to see more of these experiments, leave a like, drop a comment, or retweet. If there’s enough interest, I’ll aim to make this style of content a regular series. Let's Jump Into Experiment #1 Idea Leverage pre-made content to create ad creatives showcasing the thrill of the new Pokémon card integration in the Fortune Spin Machines. We targeted three unique audiences to understand how sentiment and performance varied: 🔹TCG Collectors (Non crypto) 🔹DRIP Lookalike Users (Experience with similar systems) 🔹Crypto Natives (Aware of our sector) Campaign Overview Platform: X (Twitter) Objective: Brand + feature awareness Total Ads: 16 Total Budget: $1,000 (ad credit) Total Spent: $480.93 Duration: July 5–9 Key Performance Indicators Impressions: 1,854,562 (Target: 1,000,000) CPM: $0.29 (Benchmark: $0.30) Ad Engagement: 49 (Target: 100) Strong top-of-funnel reach, weaker mid-funnel engagement. What Didn’t Work 🔹US was too expensive to scale effectively on test 🔹DRIP lookalike targeting didn’t justify cost for brand awareness purposes 🔹Brand awareness campaigns don’t convert users well Recommendations 🔹Next campaign: optimize for web traffic and on-site conversions 🔹Test carousels + short-form video 🔹Use remaining budget to boost top-performing organic content 🔹Collaborate with web team to review Fortune Spin traffic and demographic spikes - identify new opportunity segments Was it a successful campaign? From a brand awareness POV, yes! 1.85M impressions at $0.29 CPM is a win, especially when testing new styles of content and products. We also uncovered learnings around geo, audience, and messaging we’ll apply moving forward. Future experiments will test everything from lead gen to acquisition, reactivation, and nurture loops. Audience Insights Age 18–24: 573,972 impressions | $0.27 CPM Age 25–34: 847,300 impressions | $0.27 Age 35–44: 347,317 impressions | $0.24 Age 45–54: 87,410 impressions | $0.22 (Best CPM, but smallest sample size) Gender Women: 389,906 impressions | $0.26 CPM Men: 1,435,359 impressions | $0.26 CPM Note: Age 45–54 had the lowest CPM overall, but further testing with a larger sample would be needed for confidence. Recommend fixed budgeting by age band for future tests. Targeted Countries USA: 1,722 impressions | $1.67 CPM New Zealand: 56,973 | $0.24 Australia: 163,934 | $0.27 Canada: 212,003 | $0.30 United Kingdom: 780,750 | $0.20 Japan: 639,606 | $0.31 Best geo CPM: United Kingdom at $0.20 Device Breakdown iOS: 64.2% Android: 29.9% Desktop: 5.9% Top Performing Ads Ad 1 Impressions: 72,728 | CPM: $0.17 | Target: Crypto Native Ad 2 Impressions: 346,420 | CPM: $0.20 | Target: Crypto Native Ad 3 Impressions: 417,603 | CPM: $0.29 | Target: TCG Collectors (Non-Crypto) Budget Allocation & Spend Crypto Natives Budget: $200 | Spent: $180.67 | CPM: $0.20 DRIP Lookalike Budget: $300 | Spent: $180.35 | CPM: $0.34 TCG Collectors Budget: $300 | Spent: $120.41 | CPM: $0.29 Insights & Recommendations What Worked 🔹Crypto-native audiences gave us the best CPM overall, especially those tied to EVM chain lookalikes. 🔹TCG Collectors were more cost effective than DRIP lookalikes. 🔹The Pokémon × Ronin Fortune Spin graphic was the top-performing creative. 🔹Overall CPM beat platform benchmarks. If this type of breakdown is useful, let me know what you'd like us to trial next!👇

Closing Thoughts 1. In-House Development: Freedom & Focus Clients and servers are now completely in-house. What creative freedoms or pressures has that shift unlocked for you? Fitch: Moving fully in-house feels liberating—we have the freedom to execute on new game modes, change how the cadence of set releases works, and reintroduce lore into the game. We can address core issues like game experience and stability without juggling external vendor priorities (e.g., mobile, translations, battle pass changes). Right now, our roadmap is razor-focused on those two pillars: game experience and game stability. Veen: To build on Fitch’s point: some assumed we’d be micromanaged or resource-constrained. In reality, Kalos (Parallel’s CEO) empowers us. His role is to push the studio toward future opportunities, but he doesn’t micromanage day-to-day. As a result, we have the largest team we’ve ever had on the TCG side, and we’re able to move quickly. 2. Technical Debt: The “Monkey’s-Paw” Code Looking back at when you began migrating Q2–Q4 2024, what was your “aha” moment—when you realized Parallel could truly own and scale the game long-term? It happened on two occasions: - Tournament Patch Fix: During a tournament, we discovered a bug between Top 16 and Top 8. Because we were fully in-house, our engineers fixed and deployed it almost instantly. Previously, it would have taken days of cross‐time‐zone emails with a third-party vendor. That proved we could iterate at scale. - Shotgun Patch Planning: We pitched a massive set of balance and UI changes (the “Shotgun Patch”) with the expectation it would take multiple sprints. The engineers told us they could deliver it in under one sprint—because they had the proper tools, codebase access, and resources. That convinced us we truly have a capable, in-house team. An anecdote underscores the legacy tech debt. We once handed the old vendor a build that included “Alpha” cards, and when we tried to add new cards, the code simply wouldn’t expand. It was built only to support what already existed—no room for future sets. Unpacking that kind of fundamental limitation showcased the magnitude of debt we faced. Now, that core work is mostly complete; we’re almost at the finish line. 3. Go Fast Patch: <300 ms → <1 ms Serialization Talk more about the engineering breakthrough that cut server‐response times from 300 ms to less than 1 ms. How will players notice this day to day? Veen: Originally, every action the client took required a “ping” to the server, which took ~300 ms just to check, “Is the game in a valid state?” Then the server would respond, “Yes,” and the client would proceed. That lag prevented action queuing and made animations feel sluggish. - Serialization Rewrite: We rewrote how we serialize game state requests/responses. We removed unnecessary steps, reordered logic, and ensured minimal overhead. - Unity Upgrade: We upgraded to a newer Unity version, which increased server tick rates. Porting to the new engine wasn’t free—it required code refactoring—but it was necessary. Now, “Do action → Check with server → Proceed” all happens in under 1 ms. Players will notice dramatically faster responsiveness when queuing actions (e.g., dragging cards, flipping multiple cards, or executing board-wide effects). Nicole: From QA and design’s perspective, the risk is that “any single card” in the game references the server to confirm “OK” before progressing. We have to ensure no card’s logic breaks under the new serialization. Testing is exhaustive: we must verify that every interaction still works for “all cards in play” before declaring the patch safe. 4. Mobile MVP: “Crucible” of Discovery Mobile client looks solid, but core screens like deck builder are still missing. What lessons did you learn retrofitting a PC‐first TCG for phones? Nicole: - UI Redesign: The PC layout assumed large text and full‐screen asset loading. On mobile, that translates to unreadable text and crashes. We had to rebuild the UI: larger buttons, touch‐friendly navigation, and a mobile‐optimized layout. - Incremental Asset Loading: Originally, the collection screen loaded every single card asset at once—obviously impossible on a phone. We refactored to paginate and “stream” assets, so only a subset loads at any time. - MVP Prioritization: We shipped the core gameplay client first, then backfilled “nice-to-have” screens. Deck builder and battle pass are actively in development: deck builder should arrive in the next ~2 months, and battle pass is slated for patch 6.6. Veen: Going mobile revealed hidden tech debt—some systems we thought were “good enough” suddenly became blockers. But now that the mobile port is “mostly done,” we can reallocate engineers back to deeper systemic problems. 5. Public Test Server (PTS): Phased Rollout When can we expect the PTS, and how will it function? Nicole: We’re rolling it out in two phases: - Phase 1: Go Fast Patch Testing (Within the next 2 weeks) Community can log in and stress-test new serialization logic. We’ll collect bug reports for any regressions. - Phase 2: Deception Set Preview (Mid‐July) We’ll open a full PTS environment with Deception cards in-built. - Balance changes will occur in real time based on community feedback—paired with an “Echelon‐sanctioned” PTS tournament for stress testing. Veen: PTS bug reports are incredibly valuable. We’ve had real-time Slack notifications: someone files a bug, and within minutes, an engineer asks for reproduction steps. That speed is new for Parallel TCG. 6. Deception Set: “Best-Prepared Ever” What new narratives or mechanics does Deception open up that you couldn’t tackle before? Veen: Because design, lore, and engineering timelines were aligned months in advance: - Cohesive Paragon Design: Each Paragon’s core trait now ties directly into a narrative arc. For instance, “Stealth” faction cards are offset by Deception’s AOE answers. - Faucet‐Distributed Format Staples: We want free‐to‐play players to have competitive access. Two examples: - Bombardment (4 mana, universal common): “Deal 3 damage to all units.” This is the first reliable AOE answer in Parallel. - Black Market Connections (1 mana, universal uncommon): “Create 3 Mercenary Gunslinger tokens (unbankable) in your hand.” A power‐level equalizer against flooded boards. Those two cards will be available via the “faucet” (free weekly drops) on launch day—so every account has them. Fitch: This is the first time Parallel has aligned all teams far enough in advance that “everything from card scripting to VFX to lore writing” happens in parallel, rather than sequentially. It’s why Deception will, we believe, be the smoothest set drop to date. 7. Quick Play Mode: “One‐Click, One‐Queue” What is Quick Play, and how does it replace Rookie Queue + Unranked? Nicole: - Single “Play” Button: New players hit “Play” and get matched automatically—no separate Rookie vs. Unranked funnel. - Adaptive Matchmaking: If you keep losing to real players, the system sends you vs. bots. If you beat bots consistently, you face live opponents. - Immediate Rewards: After every match, players earn appearance‐specific rewards (e.g., Apparition packs, card scrap, maybe even Paragon unlock choices). - Retention Focus: The goal is to boost Day 1/3/7 retention by minimizing idle time between matches and providing a “flow” of progression. Veen: We studied other TCGs (Marvel Snap, etc.) and saw how a “continuous play loop” keeps people engaged. Quick Play arrives in patch 6.6. It’s not “1.0”—we’ll iterate on UX, add more animations, and tweak matchmaking parameters based on telemetry and PTS feedback. 8. Team Roles & Morale Fitch mentioned the team is larger than ever. Who is handling what? Fitch: - Kalos (CEO): Sets strategic vision; finds emerging tech opportunities; “always keeps us relevant.” - Nicole (Delivery Director/Superproducer): Orchestrates tickets, cross‐team assignments, and ensures nothing falls through the cracks. “If a Jira ticket needs creation, Nicole usually already created it and assigned it before I even finish speaking.” - Andrew Veen (Game Director): Leads set design, balance, PTS iterations, and competitive features (Draft, Quick Play). - Engineering Leads (including Dave): Focus on deep tech refactors—serialization, engine upgrades, and PTS infrastructure. All told, it’s the strongest collective of TCG‐specific talent Parallel has ever had. 9. Draft Mode: “The Next Priority” Once stability and mobile are squared away, what’s next? Veen: Draft Mode is our top post‐stability priority: - Design Blueprint Ready: We have a fully fleshed-out Draft format (4–8 players, 78‐card rounds, timing structure, pass directions). - Internal Prototype (Design Only): We already tested drafting “buckets” and Paragon assignments. - Engineering Awaiting PTS Flags: We need PTS infrastructure flags to test drafted decks vs. drafted decks. - Timeline: Draft won’t ship in the next 3‐month window—after Quick Play and mobile deck builder, we dive into Draft engineering. Expect a 2025 target. Fitch: Draft will be a game‐changer, giving players constantly shifting metas. It will integrate seamlessly with the job Parallel is doing on balance, PTS, and competitive support. 10. UX & Visual Polish (Post-Deficit) There’s talk of removing the “fishing line” drag animation. What else is on the UX polishing list? Nicole: - Drag & Drop vs. Fishing Line: Eventually replace
