Before co-founding Binance, Yi served as Vice President at Yixia Technology, a mobile video tech company behind mobile apps like Miaopai, Xiaokaxiu, and Yizhibo. Additionally, Yi was co-founder of the digital asset exchange OKCoin between 2014 and 2015.
